3rd year 2D animation delevepment

this is the module and first version of my character, The final version of my character should look something similar but more developed in the aspect of detail, proportions and style.
anyway heres my quick sketches of my character (3-4 mins sketches)

Here's what i've come up with so far with my story, my character is a young boy who is sleeping in bed and is suddenly woken up by a melody that catches he's attention which he then seeks to try and find where this sound is coming from.
he's search for the music sends him underneath he's bed where he falls into the abyss then finding himself in a mysterious land with a route leading to a caste on the top of a hill where the music seems to come from.
he enters the castle in search of the sound and finds a wizards wond and hat he decides to wear the hat and use the wond which is making these noises and from there on wards im looking to create an animation piece similair to fantasia, but after the kid causes several objects to move and make things you normally can't he is woken up by he's mother to realise he was sleeping all along.
when he goes back to sleep he finds the wond underneath he's pillow leaving him in doubt where or not the dream was real or not.

i was going through some old books and i came across Maurice Sendak's "where the wild things are" childrens picture book, The book is about the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is punished for "making mischief" by being sent to his room without supper. Max wears a distinctive wolf suit during his adventures and encounters various mythical creatures, the wild things.

currently im thinking of creating and animation following the path of Maurice Sendak's theme where a kid's imaginationtakes over and makes him/her see things that aren't real or things lets tsay that adults can't see lol
